It is all well and good to have a website but your website isn’t going to get found by itself. Visit Google Places and submit your business as a starting point. Be sure to put a lot of effort into it and fill in all of the blanks as this could and should be a key source of traffic for your local business if done right. Phone & Email
I do a lot of Local Online Marketing for small business owners and find it unfathomable that some do not answer the phone or reply to emails. I sometimes throw dummy leads through their website to see if I get a response and how good their service is. Somehow, 50% of the time, the phone isn’t answered and somehow, they don’t respond to emails. A big part of your Local Online Marketing efforts are ensuring that you pick up the phone and respond to emails as these are most likely people trying to contact you through your website.
Please, please, please! Ask your web guy or girl to setup a email address that matches your domain name, there is nothing more unprofessional than getting a response from a “business owner” from a Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail account. In addition to this and the Analytics section above, try to have phone or call tracking setup if possible.
